Located at 700 North Avenue in New Rochelle, The Mirage is the newest restaurant from Ari Thanos, owner of the Thanos Restaurant Group.
"The Mirage Restaurant & Café will be a welcome addition to New Rochelle," said Thanos. “The Mirage's expansive menu will offer breakfast at any time as well as something for everyone. Between our Grab n’ Go market, our close proximity to Iona and offering free parking in the back of the restaurant, visiting us will be stress-free.”
The Mirage offers seating inside the restaurant and market areas as well as outdoors. On the menu, you’ll find everything from breakfast specialties like omelets and pancakes to lunch and dinner favorites like burgers, quesadillas, sandwiches and wraps.
Plus, all menu items will be prepared, cooked and baked in-house. After the restaurant’s first two weeks in business, it will start opening earlier in the morning, with eventual goals to expand hours to 24/7 in the coming months.
The Mirage was named as an homage to the popular Mirage Diner, which was a local staple for several decades. The diner was demolished by Iona College demolished in 2015 and replaced with a new residence hall. While the two establishments share nearly identical names, The Mirage Restaurant & Café will be different than its namesake.
“The Mirage Diner was a staple in the New Rochelle and Iona College communities," said Thanos. "In the spirit of those memories and the same location, we decided to name the new restaurant The Mirage. Although they share the same name, the Mirage Restaurant & Café will offer an elevated level of food and service."
